FISHING TRIPS

Fishing trips are timed at full or half day and include all fishing gears and water - alcoholic beverages can be provided upon request. All prices are per boat and maximum numbers vary according to fishing type.

Fly Fishing (Catch and Release)
½ day - $200US/ Full day – $250US
Max No - 2 persons

Belize is currently the No 1 spot for fly fishing in the world. Because of its unique shoreline and reef, fishing flats are abundant along the coast and thus a fly fisherman’s haven. Most fishing flats are 10 minutes away!!

Grand Slams are commonly caught in these areas (Permet, Tarpon and Bone Fish each caught in one day). Other fish often caught are Snooks, Barracuda, Snappers and Sharks. Most fishing is done off the boat to cover a larger area during the time period and a little wading is also available.

For those novice fishermen we provide a number of services including fly-casting and fly-tying lessons as well as the opportunity to purchase locally made flies.

The fly-fisher will usually bring his/ her own equipment and therefore below we have a few suggestions …

RODS:

Bonefish, 6 – 8 wt; Tarpon, Snook, Permit, & Barracuda: 9 – 12 wt

REELS:

Anodized with excellent drag systems, capable of holding your fliy line and at least 150 yards of 20 lb or 30lb backing.

LINES:

Light Rod: Saltwater taper floating line
Heavy Rod: Saltwater taper floating and intermediate sink.

Belize is a fisherman’s heaven and exploring beyond the reef, out into the big blue, only adds to the great adventure. Fish are not only plentiful beyond the reef but are far more likely to be larger than those found inside the reef and therefore fisherman are often far more excited about their catch.

Those fish that are expected to be biting are Wahoo, Sailfish, Kingfish, Snapper, Grouper, Jacks, Sharks and Barracudas.

Trawling
½ day $200 US / Full Day $250US
Max No 4

Trawling can be done both inside and outside of the reef and is a popular method of fishing amongst fishermen.
